1 ripe banana
Handful of oats
Preheat oven to 1800C.
Mash the banana thoroughly and grind the oats in a food processor.
Combine the banana with sufficient ground oats to createa sticky dough.
Divide the mixture into small pieces and press it into the shapes of your choice (e.g. bars).
Bake for about 15 minutes until golden brown in color – they become harder the longer they are cooked, hence the need to keep the baking time as brief as possible if you wish to retain a chewy texture.
Note: This easy recipe produces chewy oatmeal bars for babies coping well with finger food.
