1 ripe banana
Handful of oats
Preparation
- Preheat oven to 1800C.
- Mash the banana thoroughly and grind the oats in a food processor.
- Combine the banana with sufficient ground oats to createa sticky dough.
- Divide the mixture into small pieces and press it into the shapes of your choice (e.g. bars).
- Bake for about 15 minutes until golden brown in color – they become harder the longer they are cooked, hence the need to keep the baking time as brief as possible if you wish to retain a chewy texture.
Note: This easy recipe produces chewy oatmeal bars for babies coping well with finger food.
